What an amazing day for our little Ryan who was so ready for Kindergarten. The school started at 9:00 a.m. and Jim and I took Ryan to his classroom and watched as he listened intently to the teacher's instructions for choosing lunch and type of milk. He learned what to do with his coat, bookbag, and folder each day. Mrs. Day must be psychic b/c she sat him near a baseball friend and the two chatted away and forgot the parents were there!
The day went by fast. Jim and I worked on some one-on-one time with Tyler and did some chores (shampoo'ed the rug and painted the wall....the painting here never ends!). I couldn't wait for the bus to arrive and it was a little late but I was so relieved to see Ryan's sweet smiling face jump off that bus.
It was obvious that Ryan was very tired. I had to leave for work and Jim said Ryan just couldn't fight a nap and he slept for about an hour before the baseball, football and any-front-yard-play-with-daddy game began!
On day 2, Ryan insisted on riding the bus as opposed to mom driving him to school and getting an extra 1/2 hour of sleep. He was alert and ready when the 6:20 a.m. wake up call sounded after a short night of staying up to watch Tigers and Tigers Live before mom changed the channel and said, "Get to sleep!" At 6:55 a.m. he ran up the driveway as I stood back and waved goodbye. I'm loving that he's loving school.
