Fall Leaves
The boys took a time out to play and jump in the leaves. We spent hours raking at Grandmas and transporting them to the road for pick up. Love those fall smiles.
Fall Fun at Hidden Lake Gardens
It was a cold day, but we made the best of it at Hidden Lake Gardens. Tyler decorated a pumpkin. We enjoyed a corn maze and leaf rubbing station. And the boys never even fell in the pond while we were bull frogging.

Lions Game!
Yep, we did. The day after Jim and Ryan's adventure to the Michigan vs. AirForce game, we scored a great deal on some Lion's tickets. Of course we at the top of the stadium, literally, but it was alot of fun and we even shared some time with Uncle Rick and Aunt Amanda. The kids liked the pre-game activities at Ford Field too. They ran some plays in the parking lot and a good time was had by all. Lions won! Go Suh!
Ryan's first Michigan Game-Air Force
Ryan was in his glory when Daddy scored some seats to the Michigan game. He'd been to the stadium for fan day and Spring games...but never an actual game. We had warned him that, likely, he would never go due to the cost of the ticket, but when we found a deal, it was hard to turn down that begging face. We laugh about the price of the Coke at the game. At $4.50, he savoured every swallow. Love those Michigan smiles.
First Day of Kindergarten and 2nd Grade
It was an exciting morning on the first day of school. Tyler and Ryan were ready. We were proud and ready. I see smiles on these faces. But we will always remember those trembling lips on Tyler when we were saying bye to him in Mrs. Day's classroom on the first day of school. We thought we might have issues as the week before, Tyler suddenly didn't want to stay at bible school. We prepped him all week long saying that indeed we would be saying goodbye and that the teacher would be equipped to deal with his sadness.
Jim and I agreed to say goodbye and exit quickly. When I discovered that Jim did not make it to the hallway behind me, I waited patiently for about 15 minutes before Jim finally left the room. He said that Tyler grabbed his hand and looked so sad that he had no recourse. Luckily, Mrs. Day saved the day and stole him away. She said he was perfectly fine within a few minutes and he had a great day. I'm glad to report that he continues to love school.
As for Ryan, he was so ready that he said goodbye and never looked back. So thankful that they like school.
Thankful for our friend. Saying Goodbye.
We knew that our time with our kitty Nugget would be limited as he approached nearly 18 years. Jim and I adopted him from a friend back in 2000. He was a beautiful long haired kitty who was not all that sociable, but he loved us and we loved him. He adjusted to a number of changes including several house moves and two new kiddos to the family. He came around more often and let the kids love on him. We said our goodbyes in September when he became dehydrated and lethargic and the mass on his intestine indicated cancer. It was a hard decision to make but we could not bare to see him in pain so we gave him love and left him in good hands. He is truly missed.
