How sweet it is!

It is so nice to have a baby to hold again! My Ryan is nearly too big to pick up. Ryan likes to sit next to Tyler and kiss him and hold him. We have a lot of fun playing with "piggies" and Ryan tickles Tyler all the way up to his cute little face.
Tyler is starting to keep his eyes open more. He has been asleep for 2 1/2 weeks. I'm hoping to get some more pictures of Tyler up soon.
I'm starting to feel pretty good. We actually walked to the park the other day and it didn't wipe me out!!
Well...I'm off to change a diaper. Bye for now.

Big Brother

One of the sweetest sounds in life are the squeaky noises of a newborn baby. Of course Toddler giggles are just as sweet...maybe even more so because we know this happiness is by choice.
Likewise, the sweetest vision is that of an unsolicited kiss from a big brother to a newborn baby brother. Ryan steals kisses at least once per hour. What a treat.
After about 1,000 attempts, Ryan went potty on the big boy potty at Grandma's house the other night. Everyone was so excited. I was sure we were on the right path for potty training. However, Ryan is not as excited as I had hoped. Most times, he is unwilling to try the big potty. We'll keep trying;)

Birthday and Bowling Celebration!

Yesterday, we were brave. My mom turned 60 on August 22 and we went out for our first family dinner at a restaurant with Tyler and Ryan. Tyler was a saint and slept through the whole meal. Ryan was a trooper and we later rewarded him with a trip to the Bowling Alley.

The kids were even good for Ryan's haircut and shopping at Meijer. Ryan always enjoys about 10 rides on the penny pony. Thanks for the deal Meijer. Check out our 2 1/2 year old tearing up the bowling alley. He's still talking about the fun!

Picnic Fun

It's hard to keep up on all of the fun we are having. Here are some pictures of a family picnic we enjoyed this Saturday at Papa Ralph's and Grandma Ellen's. We were even able to celebrate GGs 86th Birthday. We're looking forward to the years of fun to come. The kids got along famously...and so did most of the adults;)

Time is Flying!

I don't know where the time is going. There are still so many close friends that I haven't even called to share the news of Baby Tyler. I hope your staying "posted".

Ryan is a proud big brother, but is refusing to cooperate at times. Mostly, I think he is not used to having mom and dad at his disposal 24/7. We are doing our best to keep him in check during is stubborn spells. Thank goodness Tyler is so agreeable. Keep him clean and fed and he is just content. He is even doing well in the night. Ryan, however, climbs into bed with daddy every night and sleeps a little too close for Daddy's comfort. Oh well, we'll find our way. I'm working on baby announcements, stay tuned.

Oh, By the way Cindy...thank you for the "Lightning McQueen" pajamas. They are about the only way we can get Ryan to think about bed time.

Four to Adore!

We couldn't be more delighted by the introduction of Tyler James Ladd to our family on Friday, August 10th at 11:47 a.m. When the nurse asked us if we had any special requests for "birthing", Jim and I smiled and asked "What could be more special than what was happening right now?"

Tyler is such a sweetie. The exact term I used when anyone asked me about Ryan 2 1/2 years ago. No surprise, since so far...Tyler is Ryan's twin born 32 months later! Please enjoy our photos and I'll save the gruesome details for the next blog.

Baby Update!

I hobbled to the Doctor's office today. We are getting closer to delivery and can even opt for some help with making things progress through inducing. This is tempting as I can barely move. Dr. says I can go to the hospital tomorrow but I told him I'd rather stick it out a bit and let the baby do things at his own time. (Hopefully soon;) I reserved the right to keep in close touch with the Dr. if we feel the need to help the delivery along.

A good friend lost her husband this week and my thoughts and prayers are constantly with her. She is a strong woman who will, no doubt, persevere. She is reminded, as am I, of how precious life is. I will use this reminder to enjoy life. It's my birthday today and I look forward to the experiences to come.

Keep watching for baby news!
